Your Health, Your Privacy
Accessible, Confidential Care Through the 91³Ô¹Ï Health Center
Contraception Services
Students can access contraception services directly through the 91³Ô¹Ï Health Center, in partnership with Advocate Health. Our licensed Nurse Practitioner provides consultations and prescriptions to help students choose the option that best fits their needs.
*No-Cost Appointments
All actively enrolled 91³Ô¹Ï students can schedule a health appointment at no cost, and health insurance is not required to be seen in the clinic.
Students under the age of 18 may schedule and consent to contraception services on their own, consistent with Illinois law. All visits are private and confidential.
Contraceptive Options Available
During a health visit, students may receive prescriptions for several birth control methods, including:
- • Birth control pills
- • Birth control patch
- • Vaginal ring
- • Depo-Provera injection
Students may receive new prescriptions or refills for contraceptives offered by the clinic. Prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy of the student’s choice, where medications can be filled using personal insurance or paid for out-of-pocket.
For students using the Depo-Provera injection, the medication is picked up at the pharmacy and then administered at the Health Center during a follow-up visit at no additional cost.
At this time, the Health Center does not provide placement or removal of IUDs or contraceptive implants, but staff can help guide students to appropriate providers if needed.
Emergency Contraception - Also Known as the "Morning After" Pill
Emergency contraception is available on campus through vending machines that offer Plan B for $7. The vending machines are located in Building D1, allowing students to access emergency contraception quickly, affordably, and discreetly without the need for an appointment.
Students who have questions about emergency contraception or would like information about additional options available through local pharmacies or healthcare providers may also speak with staff at the Health Center.
Information and Resources for Pregnancy Termination
Students who need information about medication abortion can speak confidentially with Health Center staff.
While medication abortion is not currently provided within the 91³Ô¹Ï Health Center, students seeking confidential guidance may contact the National Abortion Hotline (1-800-772-9100) for information, support, and potential financial assistance options. Additional organizations, including the National Abortion Federation Hotline and Planned Parenthood, may also help connect individuals with providers and funding resources available in their area.
Abortion Funding Resources
If you are pregnant and considering abortion care but are concerned about affordability, financial assistance may be available.
Local and national abortion funds may help cover a variety of expenses related to care, including:
- • Procedure costs
- • Travel expenses
- • Transportation
- • Other related support costs associated with obtaining care
Free Condoms on Campus
Students have free access to condoms (both male and female) through the Health Center.
- • Available 24/7 as supplies permit.
- • Located outside the Counseling and Wellness Center and in clinic exam rooms.
- • No appointment or request is required.
