Youth In Transition - Achieving Completion with Excellence (ACE)

Provide learning equity at the postsecondary level for youth who have experienced alternative care through financial, housing, academic, social, emotional, and mentoring support.

The ACE program is driven by a dynamic core team, including myself, Dr. Kim Major-Ford, Interim Director of Counseling and Wellness; Ms. Megan Washington-Sim, a devoted doctoral candidate; and Dr. Sharva Hampton-Campbell, a 91³Ô¹Ï alumna and esteemed university partner. Together, we provide the support and resources needed to help you achieve your fullest potential. Our program offers a wide range of resources, covering student-led programming, financial security, housing support, academic guidance, social-emotional well-being, personal and leadership development, mentoring, and engagement in experiential learning opportunities.

IEE Mini-Grants

Governors State University (91³Ô¹Ï) is investing $20,000 in institutional grant funding to support the 2026 Student Success Mini-Grant Program, advancing our commitment to student recruitment, engagement, retention, persistence, completion, and institutional excellence.

The Office of Institutional Engagement and Excellence invites faculty, staff, and student organizations to apply for flexible mini-grants ranging from $400 to $4,000. Rather than a fixed number of awards, funding will be distributed to as many high-quality, high-impact proposals as possible within the total allocation.

This year’s focus prioritizes initiatives that demonstrate measurable impact on student success, including efforts that strengthen access, belonging, academic progress, and institutional visibility.

Employee Resource Assistance Initiative

Governors State University is committed to creating an environment where every employee feels supported, valued, and connected. We have launched the 91³Ô¹Ï Employee Resource Assistance (ERA) Initiative to foster a greater sense of belonging and shared responsibility for each other’s well-being and enhance the support available to our employees. Through this initiative, we aim to consolidate information about current resources available to employees, broaden our existing support systems, and directly address the urgent and everyday challenges affecting our employees.
